Whether you feel worthy or not, God sees his daughters as worthy of His love!

1. God Sees His Daughters as Beautiful
I’ve been so sick for the past week. Fever, stomach bug—-the works. I haven’t put an ounce of makeup on my face, washed, brushed, or combed my hair.
I think I’ve brushed my teeth.
Every room in my house is contaminated.
To top it all off, my husband is sick too.
My happy-go-lucky-almost-2-year old has been holding down the fort around here.
She and I were laying in my bed, and I was attempting to read her a book, but I was failing miserably because of how terrible I felt.
So we just began talking and snuggling, and then she started noticing my face.
I have adult acne, and so when I don’t wear makeup you can see my pimples even more clearly than when I try to cover them up.
My sweet girl then pointed to every pimple, gently kissed them, and said,
“All done, boo-boos!“
Sweet that she wants my “boo-boos” gone, but stinks that my pimples are that noticeable.
And then,
She lovingly strokes my face and says,
“Pretty, Mommy!”
I remember thinking, ‘pretty?!’
I am so sick, no makeup, and running a fever, and she believes I am beautiful?
Isn’t that just like our Father? When you feel unworthy, God says you were worth dying on the cross for! He doesn’t see your blemishes or imperfections, because Jesus took those upon him.
2. His Daughters Are Forgiven
We all try to cover up our imperfections.
Our scars, sins, our past, and our hurt.
Jesus takes our “boo-boos” kisses them, and heals them. He forgives every area of our life when we come to Him.
1 Peter 2: 24-25“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
He doesn’t see your brokenness when he looks at you.
Just like my 2-year-old didn’t notice my imperfections on me anymore. She saw that I was beautiful.
He sees you just how you are, forgiven, through his blood-washed white.
3. God Sees His Daughters as Worthy of Love
God sees His daughters as worthy of love. His perfect love.
No matter what you have or haven’t done, Jesus went to the cross for just for you. You, his daughter, are so worthy of his love–simply because He made you and you are HIS.
There are so many stories in the Bible of women that God used for His glory. It didn’t matter what they had done– he still forgave and used them for His Kingdom.
At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
John 8: 2-8But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
What a good and loving God!
Whatever you are holding onto from your past, whatever unworthiness or sin or guilt is weighing you down, let it go.
Revel in the fact that God forgives and heals, and sees you as his dearly loved, and beautiful daughter.

happily tweeted this! God does call us beautiful and loved and worthy (I even wrote a book titled Worthy: Believe Who God Says You Are!) These lessons are not always easy, and I find I need to circle back often, but they are so worth it!
How incredible you wrote a book! Thanks for tweeting <3!!
Kids are so wonderful. I’m so glad they see past our imperfections. They don’t have a care in the world. They live us – the good, the bad, and the ugly. Love this reminder #Grace&Truth
Amen! Thanks for stopping by!
What a beautiful example of God’s perspective of us Leah! I hope you’re feeling better! Thanks for sharing your precious story.
I’m so much better! You’re welcome!
What a sweet post, I had that bug, I love on tea and crackers. It reminded me of a little boy I prayed for, his vision was so bad, he had very thick glasses, one of the first things he had told his mother was the she was beautiful, when he could finally see her, I think he was about five. Later on, I heard that he had been diagnosed with cancer, prayed for, a second visit to the doctor found no cancer, I told his mother to keep believing about his sight as well. It is good that children can look beyond flaws, but sad in some of the foster care children who don;t understand their situations, they still love the parents who endanger them.
Wow what an incredible story! And yes, the children in foster care need so much love. I am privileged to teach some of them!
